Gentle and spirited.
A versatile Pêga line.

Garoto combines a gentle temperament with spirited movement. Our experience with his offspring includes saddle, cattle-working, work and recreational mules, including crosses with Quarter Horse mares. BREEDING PROJECT

Felina × Novedoso
de la Seda

With Felina and our Colombian Paso Fino stallion, we plan to develop a line of hinnies: the cross between a stallion and a female donkey.

This cross with Novedoso is a future project. Felina’s purebred Pêga offspring belong to our donkey line.

GAROTO DE SIMA · SEMEN EVALUATION

Results you
can review.

We share the report from the Animal Biotechnology Laboratory at Politécnico Colombiano Jaime Isaza Cadavid, dated October 26, 2026. It includes a fresh semen evaluation and a freezing trial with a post-thaw assessment.

Results for the sample evaluated. All values in this table are expressed as percentages (%).
Parameter	Fresh	Post-thaw
Total motility	98.35 %	83.83 %
Progressive motility	93.80 %	52.46 %
Viability	97 %	86 %
Abnormalities	8 %	10 %
Plasma membrane integrity	64 %	54 %

Laboratory report (Spanish) · PDF

Post-thaw motility, as confirmed by the farm. An 18-second excerpt, without audio and at its original speed. The figures in the table come from the report; the video is presented as an illustration.

These results describe the sample evaluated and the freezing trial. Motility and viability percentages are not pregnancy rates. The dose, number of straws and handling are determined with the veterinarian according to the product and the mare; this report does not establish a guarantee of pregnancy with one straw.

HOW OUR PÊGA BREEDING PROGRAM BEGAN

A search.
A family dream.

Wilson Aguilar’s passion for mules began on trail rides with his cousin Edison Aguilar, his wife and their young children. That experience inspired the search that took him to Brazil and led him to choose Garoto and Felina.
